How To Stand In Faith That Nothing Is Impossible With God
Do you believe nothing is impossible with God? I have moments of doubt, but there are too many examples in the Bible, in the testimonies of others, and in my own life. Case in point: I was an alcoholic in my late teens and twenties. I lived to drink. I drank at every opportunity and it was almost always in excess and often to the point of blacking out. Many regrettable things during those times.
My Nothing Is Impossible with God Story
The morning after a drinking episode, I woke up in bed in utter shock at how I got there. I knew there was no way I got home on my own – God had an angel drive me home. Even as I write this, tears sting my eyes as I think about the mercy and love of God to keep me from injuring or killing myself or others on my way home.
I tried countless times to stop drinking. Outpatient therapy. AA. I stopped for a season but always returned to it.
One day while in my vehicle, I heard a man share his testimony on the local Christian radio station. He called their prayer line for prayer to be delivered from drugs and alcohol. He called on the day I was listening to report he’d been clean and sober for two weeks.
I remember saying, “Lord, if You could do it for him, I know You can do it for me. Please take the desire and the compulsion to drink away.”
I wasn’t even truly walking with the Lord at the time, but I knew something changed. When I got out of that vehicle, I knew I was delivered.
This wasn’t my own faith, but it was the faith of God – a faith He imparted to me as I listened to that man’s testimony. More on that in a future post.
The point is God delivered me from alcoholism – in an instant.
And to think He did this when I wasn’t even walking with Him yet. Wow, the love, grace and mercy of God.
This is just one example. There are other impossible situations He handled in my life and in the life of others – see below.
More Testimonies – With God All Things Are Possible
Mary was a virgin and favored by God and chosen to carry Jesus into the world.
David slayed the giant Goliath.
Abraham and Sarah had Isaac at 100 and 90.
Daniel slept in the lion’s den. God shut the mouth of the lions so they didn’t harm Daniel. Â
Shadrach, Mesach and Abendego came out of that fiery furnace alive.
Jesus rose from the dead after a horrific and gruesome crucifixion.
How We Stand In Faith That Nothing Is Impossible With God

Even as I wrote this, I felt faith rise up as I recalled my own deliverance from alcoholism 22 years and the testimonies shared above.
So we can cause our faith to rise up when we declare who He is with scripture and worship (see below), and we remember what He’s done (see above). This empowers us to anchor ourselves in the reality that nothing is too hard for God. He trumps any circumstance or impossibility we face.
For nothing will be impossible with God. Luke 1:37 ESV
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 ESV
Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you. Jeremiah 32:17 ESV
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27 ESV
I hope this post filled you with hope and equipped you with some simple tools to anchor yourself in the reality that nothing is impossible with God.
